Alien Isolation: A Game Of Hide and Seek?

The video game Alien Isolation is scheduled for release Oct 7th of this year and as a fan of the Alien movie franchise, but not of the games, I am intrigued by its description.

The game is set 15 years after the incident on the "Nostromo", with Ripley's daughter Amanda as the main character.  She is on a space station with one single alien.  There is no barrage of ever escalating attackers in this game, just one very deadly alien.  The alien itself is driven by advanced AI whose tactics develop as the game progresses.  As Amanda you start the game with nothing, your only strategy being escape and evade, but weapons and antagonists supposedly keep things interesting in between being hunted down.

Of most interesting note is the artwork of the game itself.  Apparently great pains were taken to reproduce the sets of the original Alien movie.  Judging by the video the developers well succeeded in recapturing the iconic look of the technology in Ridley Scott's universe.  This is a horror based game, intended to invoke the fear the original movie, and watching the game play video is like watching a sequel.

How compelling the overall story line, and the play-ability of a game that relies more on hiding than fighting, is an open question, but if both prove successful this may well be a very special game for fans of the franchise.
